Further, electrostatics are removed from the paper and it is fed to the output of the device. The paper passes through the fusing unit, where the toner below the temperature is fixed to the paper structure (the procedure of direct mechanical pressing, without using electric heating was used previously). Then the paper is stretched beneath the photoconductor and the toner is transferred to the paper by transfer corona (or transfer roller).
The principle of technology was in follows: the static charge is uniformly distributed over the surface of the photoconductor by a charge corotron (or charging shaft), then the LED is placed in the appropriate areas with the LED laser (in the LED printers – with an LED ruler), thereby exposing the hidden image to the photoconductor surface.
The technology of modern laser printing appeared in 1938 when Chester Carlson invented a printing method that called electrography, then renamed to xerography.
